Instead of writing a self-serving article on “company achievements” or “ups and downs” of 2017 I thought it would be more fun to review a few of the very best posts from the shipping industry on LinkedIn that have dropped in the last 12 months.
*DISCLAIMER – some of these may not be new to 2017 and may have been recycled*
So let’s kick it off with a classic example of a shipping business photobombing an international sports star:
I’m not sure this is the type of endorsements Mrs Messi dreamed of but ‘any port in a storm’…..
Sticking with the celebrity theme:
Captain Kirk on the bridge!
Although I’m almost positive that this Cruise Ship doesn’t have quite the pulling power of the Starship Enterprise.
Moving on to the slightly more juvenile section of this article, the subsea market. Without a doubt one of the strictest health and safety policed industries, however, it doesn’t stop them having some fun in the depths of the earth!
Nothing says professional work ethic like Noughts and Crosses and…well…you know…..
2017 was a year of progress within the shipping industry and saw the delivery of the some of the world’s largest container ships. See below for the difference in size between one of these behemoths and a Royal Navy Type 45!
As we are on the subject of the Royal Navy, they too were busy with ship deliveries in 2017. The new aircraft carrier arrived in Portsmouth for sea trials and finishing touches. Pictured below is the unusual sight of three different generations of warships from the British Isles:
Anway, that’s enough of the semi-relevant gumph. 2017 was also the year for that ‘artistic flair’ to show itself within the shipping world. The below is a particular favourite of mine (given my love for all things comic book related):
The list of pictures goes on but alas they get less funny and less interesting as we go so this is probably the best stopping point.
WRS Tech Ltd. have had one of its best years of growth across all the divisions and look forward to continuing that theme into 2018. To all our clients, new and existing, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
See you next year!
