WRS Tech's marine team have a number of vacancies for multiple marine businesses covering the UK and overseas.

The maritime client I am recruiting for are currently looking for a Marine Field Service Engineer to join the team. As the Marine Field Service Engineer, you will be part of a large team working for and within the Marine and Offshore industries. As a field service engineer you will work on solo assignments or as key member in a larger team, reporting to the Operations Manager ensuring best practice and quality are achieved at all times. It is also a requirement of this job holder to be prepared to travel throughout the UK and Worldwide, sometimes at short notice with anti-social hours when vessels are in port

Responsibilities (Brief Outline)

* Repairs, installations of Medium and High Speed marine engines plus ancillary equipment
* Man management, training and development
* Ability to lead major marine engine overhauls
* Travel the UK and overseas
* Completion of jobs to agreed timescales
* Ability to investigate problems and identify solutions

Duties of the Marine Field Service Engineer (Detailed):

* Perform all work as per the technical and work instructions supplied
* Maintain contact with the manager to establish existing work load and spares requirements
* Ensure that all job documentation is provided on a clear and timely basis
* Ensure that timesheets are submitted accurately and on time
* Identify any areas that require remedial work / further attention. Advise customer and manager as necessary then take corrective action where appropriate
* Identify opportunities for additional work and report this to the management
* Ensure that all personal and company supplied tools and/or equipment are calibrated according to established procedures and are fit for purpose
* Carry out basic equipment maintenance, identify and correct faults and report to manager if required
* Ensure that regular inspections of designated company vehicle/trailer are carried out in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and the company H&S procedures. Report any defects and take appropriate action to have them rectified
* Maintain a clean, organised and productive work area within the workshop and whilst on customers sites and also including company vehicles and equipment
* Ensure a safe working environment
* Adhere and work to Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, both on site and within a workshop environment
* Maintain a working knowledge of company Quality management system as it affects the specific role and that of the team
* Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with company Quality Management system and customer specifications or contracts

Knowledge/Skills Required:

* Medium and High Speed engine and ancillary equipment knowledge
* Management skills including motivation, training and development
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to lead major engine overhauls
* A proven track record
* Marine and Offshore industry experience
* HSE knowledge
* Computer Skills (Microsoft Packages as a minimum)
